Art Songs have long been emblazoned in the professional concert recital repertoire and the classical singing teacher’s studio. However, specific art song repertoire can - and should - be used by the contemporary musical theatre teacher as a tool that simultaneously facilitates the in-practice teaching of music theory, performance capabilities, and expressionistic singing.
